Cross-laminated timber components can be connected at discrete points using the Hilti P2P connector. Due to its design, the connector can transfer shear forces along the joint as well as tensile forces perpendicular to the joint.

The Hilti P2P connector is tightened using a setting tool. This helps to position the cross-laminated timber components accurately while simultaneously closing the joint between the components. The two-part design also allows tolerances in the machining of the connector pockets to be compensated for.
