Design of primary-to-secondary beam connections

Sheet metal connectors provide a wide range of connection solutions. Joist hangers, beam connectors, angle brackets and similar products are used in almost every timber structure. This module enables the design of primary-to-secondary beam connections using sheet metal connectors.

Module T07

Module T07 enables the design of timber connections using sheet metal connectors in accordance with European Technical Assessment ETA-06/0270, based on DIN EN 1995-1-1:2010-12 in conjunction with the applicable National Application Documents.

Joist hangers with single-sided and double-sided connections (ETA-06/0270, approval holder Simpson Strong-Tie)

CONNECTORS

Joist hangers from Simpson Strong-Tie:

VERIFICATIONS

The following verifications are performed:

Verification of the sheet metal connector (ETA-04/0270 dated 13 February 2018)
Verification of the fasteners (annular ring shank nails according to ETA-04/0013 dated 30 November 2016)
